Michael Wong
Michael is the Head of Risk and Compliance & MLRO at St. James's Place (SJP) Hong Kong. As SJP Hong Kong is regulated by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the Insurance Authority (IA) and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), Michael is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with these authorities. He leads a successful team, offering strategic and technical leadership across all areas of regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, and control frameworks.
Prior to joining SJP, Michael was a Senior Manager of the Financial Services Risk and Regulation team at PwC Hong Kong. With over 10 years of experience in the professional services industry with a focus on financial services, he specialised in areas such as regulatory compliance, risk management and internal control. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance, and is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and a Certified Public Accountant in Delaware, USA.
Tony Smith
Tony has been in the financial services industry for 23 years. Originally a financial adviser, he then spent 12 years with AXA Wealth in the UK as a Business Development Manager, supporting independent financial advisers in relation to the provision of financial planning for their clients. He transferred to St. James’s Place UK in 2012 and to Hong Kong in 2016.
Tony provides tax and technical support to St. James’s Place Partners and clients focusing on UK taxation, trust and estate planning issues for globally mobile clients.
Tony is a cricket and rugby fan, is an avid traveller who enjoys sailing and walking his newly adopted HK dog.
Martin W. Hennecke
With a career in wealth management spanning over 20 years in Germany and Hong Kong, Martin W. Hennecke brings a wealth of industry knowledge to St. James’s Place. A strong advocate for ethical and professional advice, Martin is a sought-after speaker at Investment Forums across Asia and well known through appearances on television and radio programs including Bloomberg, CNBC and CNA.
Martin holds a 1st class (Hons) degree in International Business from Oxford Brookes University and an MBA (distinction) from HKUST Business School.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading and outdoor family trips.
Hervé Galichon
Hervé has over 15 years of work experience in the investment industry as an investment manager specialising in asset allocation and fund selection. As the Head of Investment Operations for Asia and the Middle East, Herve delivers St. James’s Place’s investment propositions to clients. He is a member of the St. James’s Place Asia Investment and Portfolio Committees.
Before joining St. James’s Place, Hervé started his career in a Luxembourg-based Private Bank, working with high-net-worth clients and co-managing the in-house global allocation fund of funds. In 2013, Herve joined St. James’s Place, where he held several specialist investment roles. Hervé has master’s degrees in both law (Panthéon-Assas PARIS II) and finance (MSc EM Lyon) and is a CFA charterholder.
